Welcome to our new  Kansas giant concretion page!

These photos are from our recent trip to Kansas to visit family; and so I thought you might like to see some of the giant concretions about 50 miles n.e. of my hometown. These are in the Kanapolis, Ks. area and within the Smokey Hill River basin area where there are literally tons of clams and bi-valve fossils embedded in limestone. These concretions range anywhere from 15 to 30 feet in diameter and some are balanced on limestone pillars. We truly hope you enjoy these specimens. Simply click on the photos for expanded view.
